On 26 October, contemporary art music ensemble Rubiks Collective will present They Swim Through Air at Melbourne Recital Centre. With three world premieres and a lineup of three Australian works, including  Felicity Wilcox‘s 2021 Pythia Prize product Sound Fields, Rubiks again finds itself at the helm of new Australian music led by women. As a resident ensemble of the venue for its Local Heroes series, the program is part of Melbourne Recital Centre’s fourth season, Blossom, with performances from Brenda Gifford, the Australian String Quartet, Alexander Gadjiev, Big Thief and Tilman Robinson with Outlier.

“It’s a program of unique sound creators dear to our creative hearts,” Rubiks Collective co-founder and flautist Tamara Kohler tells Limelight.
