The Sidney Myer Creative Fellowships for 2022 have been awarded to nine exceptional artists across the disciplines of dance, theatre, literature, music, visual arts, and cultural leadership.

The recipients are: Dr Alethea Beetson, cultural leadership (QLD); Ghenoa Gela, storytelling/dance/theatre (QLD), Nam Le, literature (VIC); Fred Leone, traditional and contemporary music/dance/songlines/animation (VIC); Eugenia Lim, visual arts (VIC); Vincent Namatjira, visual arts, (SA); Rachel Arianne Ogle, dance, (WA); Carly Sheppard, performance/dance/theatre (VIC); Mindy Meng Wang, music (VIC).

Each Fellow will receive a $160,000 tax-free grant over a two-year period. Rather than being tied to a particular outcome, the Fellowships provide each artist with an income so that they may invest their time into developing their creative practice. Since the program’s inception in 2011, $16 million has been awarded to 100 outstanding Australian creatives.
