The Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House Trust has announced the recipients of its 2027 Prelude residencies.
Lior Attar and Eduardo Cossio have been awarded a year-long residency in the Trust’s properties as well as $15,000 to assist with living costs. Attar will take up residence the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House in Sydney’s Paddington, and Cossio at Gallop House in Perth.

“One of the greatest enduring challenges as an artist is how to create the conditions, both in time and space, that allow your mind to surprise you with what it is creatively capable of,” said Lior. “I am so grateful to have been granted this unique opportunity and can’t wait to see what the year brings.”
Lior is a singer-songwriter and composer whose song cycle with composer Nigel Westlake, Compassion, earned Best Classical Album at the 2014 ARIAs. Their latest collaborative work Ngapa William Cooper, created with Lou Bennett, also premiered to critical acclaim at the 2023 Adelaide Festival.
Across his residency, he will work on a brand new album with producer Tony Buchen, and develop new works in collaboration with Nigel Westlake and Elena Kats-Chernin.
Cossio said that it was an “honour” to recieve the opportunity.
“I have attended many events at Gallop House over the years, and to return to the space once again, this time with the view of developing a sustained creative practice, is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Gallop House is also a platform for the sharing of emerging work and critical perspectives. I hope to make the space available
for such vital endeavours during my stay”.
Cossio’s practice spans songwriting, composition, and music for screen and dance. He has been commissioned by organisations including STRUT Dance, Greywing Ensemble and WAAPA Dance. His solo album, Citadels, was released in 2025.
During his time at Gallop House, Cossio will continue to pursue his creative work and create a public program of “conversations, showings and performances”.
Following the bequeathment of composer Peggy Glanville-Hicks’ terrace home, the Prelude program was established in 1994, and has since housed 30 Australian composers for long-term residencies. In 2016, a partnership with the National Trust of Wesern Australia saw the program expand to include Gallop House.
The 2026 residents are Megan Washington (Sydney) and Josten Myburgh (Perth).
