ABC Classic kicks off its 2023 Festival of Female Composers, for its fifth year running.

Spanning 6–10 March, the Festival is a celebration of the musical accomplishments of women across history and continents.

This year’s festival sees an expansion from four to five days as a result of its popularity; a blossoming from the 24-hour stream that marked its inaugural year.

“It’s heartening to see the broader music industry come with us on this journey, as musicians, orchestras, conductors and record labels perform and record more works by women from across history whose music hasn’t received the attention it deserves,” said Acting ABC Classic and ABC Jazz Content Manager Kat McGuffie.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring that music to the homes and radios of Australians everywhere – during the Festival of Female Composers and all year round.”
