American countertenor Reginald Mobley will open the 2025 Blackheath Chamber Music Festival, which will be held in the Blue Mountains town for a fifth consecutive year.

Acclaimed as one of the finest exponents of Baroque, classical and modern repertoire, Mobley reached a global television audience of over 40 million viewers when he sang at the coronation of King Charles III.
His Alpha Classics debut release, Because, received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album in 2023. It features spirituals and music by Black composers including Harry T. Burleigh and Florence Price.
Mobley will be accompanied at the festival by Bach Akademie Australia, with Madeleine Easton on violin and Neal Peres da Costa on harpsichord. In news sure to excite lovers of Baroque music, they will perform a one-off program including works by JS Bach, Pachelbel, Telemann and Vivaldi.
