Canberra International Music Festival (CIMF) has appointed Eugene Ughetti as its new Artistic Director. His term will commence in July 2024 after the departure of Roland Peelman, who leaves after a nine-year tenure.

Ughetti will serve as Artistic Director between 2025–2028.

It was also announced that the duration of the 2024 festival, Peelman’s last, will be significantly cut. It is set to span five days between 1–5 May, halving the traditional 10-day structure of previous Canberra International Music Festivals.
