After a completely sold out Melbourne season, The Book of Mormon will open in Sydney in February.
Since opening at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre in January, the Australian production of The Book of Mormon has sold out at every single performance – something the venue hasn’t seen before, not even when The Phantom of the Opera was going gangbusters there. Now the smash hit musical written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez, is coming to Sydney. It was announced yesterday that the multi-award-winning show will play at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre from February 28. The news led to the highest number of ticket sales in one day for a theatre show in Sydney.

The Book of Mormon premiered at New York’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre in March 2011 where it has played 335 consecutive weeks at more than 100 percent capacity, given standing room sales.
