Home of the Arts (HOTA) has announced a million dollar donation from Bensons Property Group Chairman Elias Jreissati in one of the largest donations received by the Gold Coast’s contemporary cultural precinct. 

“HOTA marks a significant milestone in the maturity and growing sophistication of the Gold Coast as a major Australian city. A city to live in and not just visit,” said Jreissati.

HOTA Chair Jackie Trad called the donation “an extraordinary act of philanthropy.”

“The generosity of the gift is not only a testament to Mr Jreissati’s belief in the importance of art for our communities, but a validation of HOTA and our role in the growing cultural landscape on the Gold Coast.”

The Jreissati family has additionally loaned 31 works from their multi-million dollar private collection to the HOTA Gallery for the McCubbin to Smart: Australian Painting exhibition, to be displayed until 5 February 2023. The exhibition is being shown in Gallery 4 and is soon to be renamed the...
