The rock band Jet has pulled out of its upcoming appearances with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in light of the ongoing clash between the orchestra and pianist Jayson Gillham, one that is now heading towards the Federal Court of Australia.

“It is with great regret that we announce our upcoming show with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on 8 November, will be postponed to a later date,” the band wrote via an Instagram post.

“We were really looking forward to this special show and want nothing more than to play our music to our fans but due to an ongoing dispute between the MSO and another artists, we cannot, in good conscience, perform until the matter is resolved. We are excited to bring our songs to life with the MSO.”

Jet is the second contemporary act to step away from its MSO appearances after jazz/funk collective The Cat Empire, who postponed its own August appearances with the orchestra “with deep sadness”.
