Raewyn Hill will step down as inaugural Artistic Director of Co3 Contemporary Dance Australia at the end of 2026, bringing to a close a 12-year tenure that has shaped the Perth-based company’s rise as a force in Australian contemporary dance.

Hill, who has led Co3 since its inception, will remain in the role until December 2026, overseeing the transition and planning for the company’s 2027 season. Her final world premiere is scheduled as part of that program, marking a culminating artistic statement of her leadership.

The annoucement coincided with Co3’s new production which saw it and The New Zealand Dance Company restage the late Douglas Wright’s GLORIA live with West Australian Symphony Orchestra and St George’s Cathedral Consort.

Co3 Board Chair Margrete Helgeby Chaney credited Hill with transforming the company into a nationally and internationally recognised organisation, known for its artistic ambition, touring reach and community engagement.
