Liz Chee has been appointed Principal Oboe at the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. A Sydney Conservatorium of Music graduate, Chee completed postgraduate studies in Paris and joined WASO in 2011 as a contract cor anglais player. She became Associate Principal Oboe in 2014 and Acting Principal from 2016.

Michael Napthali is the new Chief Executive Officer of Omega Ensemble, a position created to coincide with the ensemble’s 20th anniversary. He brings more than 30 years’ experience in arts, government and philanthropy across senior roles working with arts organisations, funding partners and policy, and he will lead national touring and commissioning as well as audience and supporter engagement.

Rafael Bonachela will step down as Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Company, concluding a transformative tenure that began in 2009 and further developed the company’s national and international profile.
