Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2021

In February 2020, renowned Australian baritone Peter Coleman-Wright, who had recently been appointed as Artistic Director of Canberra’s new National Opera unveiled the company’s inaugural program, which was greeted with much excitement. For reasons we all know far too well, the debut season had to be postponed and the company – which aims to employ Australian singers, and create opportunities for Canberra singers – has had to wait a year before finally taking flight.

“It was disappointing not to be able to open after such a great launch at the beginning of the year, but we look immensely forward to a very exciting year in 2021,” Coleman-Wright tells Limelight.

The season will feature two semi-staged productions. In April, Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito will be given four performances at Llewellyn Hall, directed by Coleman-Wright himself. The cast includes Bradley Daley as...
