The Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) has revealed the nominees for its 2023 Independent Music Awards, the AIR Awards. With winners to be announced on 3 August at the Freemasons Hall in Adelaide, this year is the 17th annual ceremony and celebrates leading contemporary, classical, and jazz musicians in Australia.

“It is fantastic to be hosting the awards here in Adelaide – Australia’s only UNESCO City of Music – and I congratulate all of the nominees,” said South Australia’s Minister for Arts, Andrea Michaels. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognise the work the independent music industry does in providing talented and emerging artists and music businesses with a platform to share their art with a wider audience.”

Best independent Classical Album 

Ensemble Offspring has been nominated for its recent release, To Listen, To Sing, a showcase of talent from its Indigenous artistic development program, Ngarra-Burria that was a Limelight Editor’s Choice album for May.
