Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2023

With five national tours across Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Canberra, Omega Ensemble has announced its 2023 National Concert season. The ensemble will host five world premieres of commissions from artists Caroline Shaw, Gabriel Prokofiev, Ross Edwards, Holly Harrison and Brenda Gifford, as well as perform works by Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, and Missy Mazzoli.

“Our 2023 season is a global dialogue about the relevance of classical music to our modern world. We’re looking to new perspectives from leading international voices while also keeping our feet firmly placed on home soil,” said Artistic Director David Rowden.

Time is a River is the ensemble’s first tour from 25 February – 4 March, a sombre and elegiac reflection on life and memory under the weight of time.
