Opera Australia has announced that it is making a number of tickets to its Sydney summer season available to year 11 and 12 students at the subsidised price of $20.
Tickets have been made available for performances of Puccini’s Turandot – described as “a cracking night out, and a perfect antidote to these dark, pestilence-filled days” by Robert Veel in his Limelight review – and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at the Sydney Opera House in February and March. Teachers can apply for tickets either as a school excursion, or by individual students accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students can also apply directly through Opera Australia’s website.

The tickets are being subsidised by The Bourne Foundation, established in 2011 by the late Henry Arthur Bourne to provide financial assistance for the disadvantaged.
