Pinchgut Opera has announced its 2026-27 Taryn Fiebig Scholar. Sydney-based soprano Izabelle Zammit will join the company for two years of mentorship and performance opportunities alongside industry professionals.

Zammit is in her third year at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She made her operatic debut as Parrwang in Deborah Cheetham Fraillon’s Parrwang Lifts the Sky, presented at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in May. She was also awarded first prize in the Female Voice (aged 21–26) category at the Sydney Eisteddfod this year, and performed as a soloist with the Central Coast Philharmonia.
“I am thrilled to welcome Izabelle to the Pinchgut family,” said Artistic Director Erin Helyard. “She brings a radiant vocal quality, natural elegance and a curiosity about the repertoire we love and champion.”
“Taryn Fiebig was a treasured collaborator and friend to many of us, and nurturing emerging artists through this scholarship is one of the most meaningful ways we can continue her legacy. I have no doubt Izabelle’s future is bright, and we are very excited to support her journey,” he added.
