Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2023

Sydney Philharmonia Choirs have announced their 2023 concert season, marking the 20th anniversary of Brett Weymark’s appointment as Artistic & Music Director.

Acknowledging what a special year it is for him, Weymark said, “Planning this season has forced me to reflect on what makes this remarkable organisation unique. More than our high standards, more than the volunteer singers who come from all walks of life, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs is a family – uniting singers and audiences with voice, energy and joy.”

And it is around voice, energy and joy that Weymark has curated this program for a “family” made up of over 1000 singers across six choirs. “The singers I’ve had the honour to lead have been my finest teachers,” he said. “They’ve taught me not just about music and conducting but about commitment, friendship and hard work. They’re the backbone of this organisation and a most extraordinary group of people.”
