Sydney Philharmonia Choirs has announced Matthew Beale as its new Executive Director.

Beale will work with Artistic Director and Music Director Brett Weymark and Associate Music Director Elizabeth Scott to “build on the organisation’s longstanding history of excellence and cement its national and global reputation”.

“I could not be happier to be welcoming Matthew to the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs family, precisely as an exciting new chapter begins,” said Weymark. “I look forward to working together to meaningfully extend the Choirs’ programs and influence, by engaging more innovatively within our diverse community, and facilitating new world-class opportunities for Australian voices to be heard at the highest level.”

With postgraduate qualifications in vocal studies from both the Royal College of Music and London’s National Opera Studio, Beale brings over 30 years of classical music industry experience to the role.
