Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2024

The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO) has announced its 2024 season, as curated by Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams.

The tenacious orchestra from Sydney’s Inner West offers an impressive eight world premieres in its 2024 season – up from the six featured this year – across four mainstage concerts, a free chamber music festival, and Family Cushion Concerts.

There’s also a mix of modern and beloved orchestral hits on the program, including works by Piazzolla, Tchaikovsky, John Williams and Fanny Mendelssohn.

A world premiere work opens the season on 25 February at The Feast. Mark Grandison’s Degustation unfolds over eight ‘courses’ – from hors d’oeuvre to dessert. The after-dinner mint is Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, with concertmaster Victoria Jacono-Gilmovich serving as soloist.
