For its first-ever Open Day on 8 October, Sydney’s emerging cultural district Walsh Bay Arts Precinct has announced its jam-packed program, with over 40 free events sprawling across Pier 2/3 and Wharf 4/5, including activities hosted by eight resident organisations, including Australian Chamber Orchestra, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Bell Shakespeare and Sydney Dance Company.

The Walsh Bay Arts Precinct’s redevelopment project was started in 2018, designing and implementing highly-sophisticated new performance spaces and facilities for the arts organisations that call the Precinct home – such as Bell Shakespeare’s new Neilson Nutshell and ACO’s The Neilson.

The one-day event caters for families, children and adults in a program brimming with creative activities, workshops, discussions and performances. An Artistic Directors’ Round Table sees the artistic leaders of the featured organisations in a discussion about the current Australian artistic ecosystem, and the creative and cultural future for the country.

Each company also hosts exciting individual events.
