This concert is a double cause for celebration. Adelaide has a new and unique venue – one that is highly atmospheric, intimate and an acoustic showcase. Housed within a heritage-listed cottage in North Adelaide, North Adelaide Baroque Hall will open publicly for recitals in early 2023. This intimate and Rococo replica of such rooms in Europe, provides Adelaide with a unique opportunity for concertgoers. It is a small room designed for an audience of 50 or so listeners and as such, we have an ideal venue for intimate instruments like the harpsichord and associated Baroque musical ensembles, not to mention chamber music and lieder performances. The brainchild of European-based musician and composer, Julian Cochran, the hall brings the idea of hausmusik to Adelaide.
