Student Music Collective: Mozart and Mendelssohn
22 August @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm AEST

The Student Music Collective presents ‘Mozart and Mendelssohn’, an afternoon featuring pivotal cornerstones of classical orchestral repertoire featuring the Secret Orchestral Society.
The highlight of this concert is the feature of student soloist Sam Woolford, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23 in A Major. The remainder of this programme features key works by late-classical era composers. The overture to Rossini’s ‘Il Signor Bruschino’ provides a delightful introduction to the performance, with features in the strings and woodwind parts. Mendelssohn’s majestic, yet rarely performed Symphony No.5 ‘Reformation’ showcases the best of all members of the orchestra; complex and simple, delicate and powerful.
Join conductor Gary Wain, concertmaster Miaw Yng Lim, soloist Sam Woolford, and the Secret Orchestral Society on August 22nd for a spectacular afternoon of orchestral glory with ‘Mozart and Mendelssohn’.
