Australian National Academy of Music: The Spanish Piano
24 September @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

ANAM Pianos bring the colours of Spain to the Abbotsford Convent in a wonderfully intimate performance of Romantic Spanish repertoire. Tonight’s program is an ode to the Spanish greats, offering a vivid snapshot of their works.
Journey across the Iberian Peninsula with Enrique Granados and see through the eyes of painter Francisco Goya in Goyescas. Manuel de Falla’s Fantasía bætica harkens back to an ancient Andalusia, glimpsing a world long past. Finally, ANAM’s Resident Faculty and Head of Piano, Timothy Young, leads our pianists in selections from Isaac Albéniz’s Iberia — a passionate evocation of Spain in all its colour and character.
