The Adelaide Cabaret Festival has announced its 2023 program. This year’s is the brainchild of no less than nine artistic directors.

Former Cabaret Festival Artistic Directors Julia Holt, David and Lisa Campbell, Kate Ceberano, Eddie Perfect, Ali McGregor, Julia Zemiro, Alan Cumming and Tina Arena have programmed the event as The Cabaret Collective and together they span the history of the event, dating back to 2001.

Happily, the ‘too many cooks’ maxim has not been applicable, said the festival’s Executive Producer Alex Sinclair.

“What initially felt like an impossible ask was met with characteristic curiosity and enthusiasm … From the outset, what was most obvious was the abundant passion and fondness these ADs feel for the festival they have created.”

The final line-up is a collection of old favourites and premieres that speak to the legacy of past festivals while looking toward its future as one of the world’s major cabaret showcases.
