Led by Artistic Chair Paul Stanhope, Australia Ensemble UNSW has announced its 2023 season, Luminescence, with six shining concerts unwinding across the year. Stanhope has noted that the Ensemble’s 44th subscription season showcases “luminosity through a typically rich and varied program sure to ignite an inner glow”.

The season opens on 18 March with a concert called Fantasy. Joined by Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Viola Tobias Breider and Opera Australia Casual Cellist Miles Mullin-Chivers, the program centres on the breadth of contrast and colour achieved when composers break free of tradition. It features a live concert premiere of Concord Concertino by Elizabeth Younan; a rising star composer who received the 2021 Layton Emerging Composer Fellowship and talked to Limelight in 2018 about her practice and influences.
