Melbourne-based pianist and composer Nat Bartsch is spearheading a series of informal gatherings aimed at neurodivergent artists and industry professionals.
The events, scheduled from July to October, are designed to foster a sense of community among creators with diverse neurotypes, such as autism and ADHD. By accommodating a range of communication styles and sensory needs, these gatherings provide a welcoming environment distinct from typical industry networking events.
Supported by a Unified Music Grant, the upcoming Meet Up will take place on Thursday 4 July at Schoolhouse Studios, Coburg.

The gatherings have been planned with input from other neurodivergent individuals and access consultants and feature various supports, such as quiet spaces, sensory tools, a crafting corner, conversation cards focused on music, and pre-arrival materials including a social story and walkthrough video.
Proudly neurodivergent, Bartsch is part of the wave of late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD artists. As a public advocate, she has connected with many artists who feel overwhelmed by their new diagnoses. The Meet Ups, she explains, aim is to help this community connect and feel less isolated.
