Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra: Beethoven’s Emperor
Finnish pianist Paavali Jumppanen has devoted much of his career to cycles of the complete Beethoven sonatas. Now he performs the composer’s ever popular ‘Emperor’ under Johannes Fritzsch. The program also features Elgar’s musical sketches of his friends and associates, the Enigma Variations, and Paul Stanhope’s impressionistic Cloudforms, which was commissioned by the TSO in 2007. Keep a look out for the world premiere of another Stanhope commission below. Jumppanen’s concert will be livestreamed for TSO subscribers.
