The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) has announced the recipients of the 2025 Ian Potter Emerging Performers Fellowship.
Percussionist Kaylie Melville and flautist Eliza Shephard will each receive $100,000 over the course of two years, alongside mentorship from industry professionals.

Melville is the current co-Artistic Director of both Speak Percussion and Rubiks Collective. In her work with both ensembles and as a solo performer, she is a consistent pioneer of new Australian music. One of the first percussionists ever accepted into ANAM, she has been a finalist for both the ANAM Concerto Competition and the Freedman Classical Fellowship.
“I am incredibly grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Ian Potter Emerging Performers Fellowships,” said Melville.
“It has allowed me to dream big about the next steps for my career. To now be supported to make my creative dreams a reality is life-changing. I am so excited to be able to dedicate time and energy to new projects, showcasing the brilliance of Australian art music on national and international stages.”
