Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2023

Tasmania’s Festival of Voices has announced its full program for 2023. With 54 events and hundreds of performers, this year’s Festival traverses genres with an array of traditional and contemporary vocal performances, cabaret and workshops presented by local, Australian and international talent. Among this year’s headline acts are the acclaimed German vocal ensemble Sjaella (making their Australian debut at the festival), The Australian Voices, the Hobart Chamber Orchestra and the Allegri Ensemble.

Over the Festival’s 10 days (30 June – 9 July), audiences will experience two world premieres from Australian composers John Rotar and Nic Courto, and artists including, the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir, Adelaide’s Festival Statesmen, the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra and choral leaders Paul Jarman, Graham Abbott, Timothy Wayne-Wright, Maria Lurighi and Andrew Legg.

“The festival has something to suit all ages and budgets,” said Festival director Isobel Marmion. “You don’t have to sing to enjoy the wonderful variety of experiences on offer.”
