With two weeks of fierce competition now behind them, the six finalists for the Sydney International Piano Competition have been announced.

Yungyung Guo, Uladzislau (Vladislav) Khandohi, Yuanfan Yang, Vitaly Starikov, Wynona Yinuo Wang and Jeonghwan Kim have each earned a spot in the finals.

Each competitor will perform two concertos – one from 1800 and earlier; one from post-1800 – next to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House on 18–22 July. Their performances will also be streamed free and live on Australian Digital Concert Hall.

The winner of the competition will win a $50,000 Award, alongside a national tour, Australian and international engagements, and recordings on the Hyperion and Decca record labels. They will also perform a solo recital at the Opera House on 28 July.
