Kim Williams has been appointed as the next Chair of the ABC. The highly regarded media executive has extensive credits in broadcasting and the arts. A onetime professional clarinettist, he is a former Chair of the Sydney Opera House Trust and Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and a former General Manager of Musica Viva Australia. He steps into the role this month, when Ita Buttrose finishes her tenure.

Sydney Opera House has appointed its first Indigenous Chair. Emeritus Professor Michael McDaniel – a special advisor to the University of Technology Sydney – is a member of the Kalari Clan of the Wiradjuri Nation of Central New South Wales. He has a distinguished career in Indigenous higher education and a record of service to the arts, culture and the community. A former Chair of Bangarra Dance Theatre, he replaced Lucy Turnbull in January.

Creative Australia has reappointed Adrian Collette as its CEO for a further five years. He has steered the organisation through a significant period of transformation since his appointment in January 2019.
