Omega Ensemble: Concertante
When Chopin premiered his First Piano Concerto in 1830, it was to be his last appearance in Warsaw before leaving Poland for good. This performance, featuring Vatche Jambazian in an arrangement for piano and string nonet, uncovers the work’s raw emotive power and celebrates Chopin’s love for the intimate salons of his adopted Paris. The program also includes Olli Mustonen’s Nonetto II and the world premiere of Harry Sdraulig’s Triptych with David Rowden on clarinet.
