Congratulations on winning 3MBS’s The Talent Season 2 2018. How did you feel about winning the competition?

It was a pleasure to win The Talent 2018. It was a real surprise and I felt extremely happy.

What repertoire did you play?

For the first round, I played Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saëns and Paper Boats by Emma Greenhill (an Australian work). For the Finals, I played the third movement of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major.

You also won the Kendall National Violin Competition in September. Do you enjoy entering music competitions? And do you think competitions are helpful in building a career in music?

I think competitions are an opportunity to perform and get feedback from the jury. It is also a chance to hear other students play.

How old were you when you first began playing the violin, and why did you start?

I started to play the violin as a toy when I was three years old and it was a music program offered by my kindergarten.
