Australian Chamber Orchestra: Schubert’s Trout
Finnish piano virtuoso, conductor and composer, Olli Mustonen, reunites with the ACO to perform Schubert’s beloved Trout Quintet, with its endless stream of melodious joy and freedom. Mustonen says, “Like a magical lake, forest or a river, it is so good to be near its presence – its existence makes the world a better place.” This contrasting program also features Mustonen’s own dramatic Piano Quintet alongside Darius Milhaud’s jazz-infused ballet score, La Création du monde, based on African folklore, which premiered in 1923.
