Adam Chamber Music Festival Trust: New Zealand International Chamber Music Festival
In addition to the breathtaking scenery and world-renowned wineries, this biennial festival is another good reason to cross the Ditch. Held at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts and the neo-Gothic Christ Church Cathedral, it is headlined by the Takács Quartet, founded at Budapest’s Franz Liszt Academy in 1975. Led by first violinist Edward Dusinberre, the quartet’s many awards include a Grammy and those given by Chamber Music America, the Japanese Recording Academy and the Royal Philharmonic Society. Find out more about this year’s lineup in our 2024 festivals preview on page 27.
